As many of you know, September is Sepsis Awareness month, a time dedicated to raising public sepsis awareness and improving sepsis prevention and management efforts in the healthcare community. One day during this month is declared World Sepsis Day, a day when healthcare organizations across the world refocus their sepsis efforts through diverse educational and fundraising activities. This year World Sepsis Day falls on September 13th, so be sure to mark your calendar and participate in events held by your organization or others near you.
Sepsis Month and World Sepsis Day were created in 2012 by the Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA), a global organization committed to raising sepsis awareness and education levels, and reducing the tremendous toll this condition takes on the global population.
For the second year in a row, the GSA is sponsoring the annual World Sepsis Congress, a two-day long online conference featuring presentations from some of the world’s leading experts on sepsis. This year, the World Sepsis Congress will take place on September 5th and 6th, with sessions live-streaming online all day from 11:00 UTC to 22:15 UTC on day 1, and from 7:00 UTC to 22:30 UTC on day 2. The Congress will feature over 100 speakers from 30 countries who will present on all aspects of sepsis care, prevention and social impact over the course of 17 sessions. Best of all, this event is completely free to all viewers! For a complete Session Program and to register for the Congress, please visit its website.
All World Sepsis Congress sessions will be recorded and available for later viewing or listening on the Congress’s YouTube channel and Apple Podcast page. So if you can’t make the Congress livestream, be sure to visit these pages later and take advantage of this tremendous free sepsis education resource.
We at ESCAVO wish you a productive and successful Sepsis Month!
