It has been a while since our last blog post and we never bother our users with appeals, but we think this is very important. Please take a few minutes to read this post and vote for sepsis!
The NASCAR Foundation has selected Dr. Carl Flatley, founder of the Sepsis Alliance, as one of four finalists for receiving the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award. This Award donates $100k to the winner’s charity of choice, which in this case means the Sepsis Alliance if Carl is the winner.
Carl founded the Sepsis Alliance in 2007 after his 23 year old daughter Erin died from sepsis acquired during a routine surgical procedure. The Sepsis Alliance is a charitable organization run by a team of dedicated laypeople and healthcare professionals committed to fighting sepsis. Since its inception, the Sepsis Alliance has been a strong advocate of sepsis awareness, and has played a key role in raising the level of sepsis education among practitioners and the general public. A vote for Carl in this award race means a vote for sepsis and $100k towards continued sepsis education. To vote, just go to www.nascar.com/award and select Carl Flatley from the four finalists – a video describing Carl and the Sepsis Alliance is also available for viewing.
Users can vote for their favorite finalist up to 1 times per day, so please take a minute each day to vote for Carl and sepsis awareness until the end of the race! Voting ends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:59:59 pm ET, with the winner being announced on Friday, December 4, 2015 live on-stage during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards in Las Vegas.
Thank you for your time and support of sepsis awareness!
